The Zane Wedding

On the 10th of August my cousin Sierra wed Robbie and a new little family was formed! It was a sweet and intimate ceremony at a park by the river and a reception at her parent's home nearby which coincidentally is the home that I grew up in. It was really cool to see them celebrate their marriage there along with all of the other memories that take place in that house. The day turned out to be beautiful for them as well as the evening. What caught me off guard and wrenched my heart was at the beginning of the ceremony, Robbie had written vows to Jayden, Sierra's son. He promised to him that he will be the best step father he could possibly be and told him that he loves him. It was incredibly sweet.

Such a sweet new family.

A perfect day and evening for this sweet couple.

Thoughts

Fall is coming. I celebrated by buying myself a fourteen dollar natural candle that has a wooden wick that crackles as it burns but I have yet to burn it due to the fact that we are still using our air conditioning and burning a candle would be counterproductive. I want the lazy days and nights that consist of leggings and sweaters and candles and coffee and movies and art, but alas, I am no care-free college student anymore (although I'm not sure if I ever was carefree during college). But really, I've been more busy than my liking. Mostly on pictures at this point. I come home from my real job and work on pictures the whole evening. I want to come home and cook and play and be lazy again. Soon enough I will, once picture season slows down a bit. I'm just finding that it can be difficult to balance things like that in my life. I do not miss being in nursing school though, that's for sure. To not have a million things to cram into my brain feels nice. I hope to start writing and creating more again. Until then, bear with me.

The Quarries

A couple of weekends ago we went with a group of friends out to St. Cloud, MN where we cliff jumped and swam at the Quarries! It's a little bit of a walk through the woods to the actual quarry. For those of you who have never been there (this was my first time!) it's an old quarry they used to mine in, and after they were done with it they filled it up with water. Nowadays its used for cliff jumping and swimming. It's legal and safe because there is no gradual slope into the water, its pretty much a straight cut in the rock and it's super deep. We had so much fun. It was the perfect day for it too, hot and sunny!

The big cliff- it was probably around 25 feet high. It feels like much more when you're on top of it convincing yourself to jump!

This is cute, right..?

Me jumping off the big cliff!

Mini photoshoot with the beautiful Kathleen!

My love.

Love those ear freckles.

Can I just finish this post by saying how much I love Minnesota? I love it a lot. Like really.
